Michael joined the Island Country Club team during the Summer of 2020 as our new Golf Course Superintendent - please feel free to call him “Mike”. He was born and raised in Cincinnati, OH, and enjoyed horticulture at a young age working as a seasonal employee at Sharon Nursery. Early in high school, Mike was introduced to golf course maintenance at his first country club job at Oasis Golf Club. Working there, and loving what he did, he decided to attend The Ohio State University to study Turf Grass Maintenance and Agricultural Business. Mike was fully committed to working at Muirfield Village Golf Club during his college career, which led him to his first Assistant Superintendent position at Card Sound Golf Club in Key Largo, FL.

After 5 successful years, he was selected to be the Superintendent at Avila Golf and Country Club and made the move "up north" to Tampa, FL. It was there in Tampa where he married his wife Lauren, birthed their daughter Elliott and raised 2 crazy dogs. Mike and Lauren are both ecstatic to be in the Marco Island area and he looks forward to new experiences and opportunities with Island Country Club.
