Franco Alves was born in Portugal and at the age of 4, moved to Boston, Massachusetts. From a very early age he started participating in various sports including ice hockey, boxing, football, basketball. As a freshman in high school Franco began to lift weights training for football and ice hockey. It was in the gym and weight room where he was bit by the fitness bug. By the time Franco was a junior in high school he was designing programs for his teammates and spending countless hours in the gym. As an adult Franco continued to play ice hockey and hit the gym and continued living a healthy lifestyle, helping others in the gym every chance he had. In 2000 Franco became an ISSA certified fitness trainer. From 1999-2005 Franco worked as a fitness trainer and manager of Nautilus Plus Fitness Center in Danvers, MA. Working and designing programs for all level clients ranging from beginners to pro athletes. In 2005 Franco set off on his own, training clients in their homes, something he continues to this day. In 2009 Franco re-located to sunny southwest Florida embracing the warm sunny winters and active outdoor living where he enjoys year round training. Franco specializes in one-on-one as well as group training. He enjoys creating programs for all sports, ability levels and age groups ranging from children with special needs, to active seniors wanting to improve their quality of life. One of Franco’s most rewarding experiences has been training his autistic 11 year old daughter and witnessing her continuous physical improvement. In his free time Franco enjoys spending time with his wife and children at their home on Marco Island. Franco is also active in his community by coaching youth soccer on the island as well as volunteering with the Island Theater Company.
