Nina Lane was born and raised in Sweden. Growing up she lived an active lifestyle participating in various sports, mainly focusing on volleyball. In 1988, Nina decided to come to the United States to improve her English. She worked as a linguist at a linguistic software company and soon became their HR manager with 25 employees. Nina competed in triathlons and running as well as beach volleyball and windsurfing. Her passion for sports and fitness naturally led her into the fitness field. She began as a group instructor a few nights a week after her full-time linguist job. In 1996, she gave up her position at the software company to focus on the fitness field and raising her two young children.
Nina was soon promoted to Director of Fitness for the Greater Marco YMCA where she ran the fitness program for 14 years. She then opened her own fitness studio, focusing on one-on-one training. She gained more clients each year and in 2011 she brought in three certified and experienced trainers to work with her. In May of 2012, Nina was offered the position as Director of Fitness at Island Country Club. Subsequently, she sold her business, “Healthy Body by Nina”, in February of 2013.
